Part time chef/cook

Hanley Farm Shop Café is a family-run business that values its place within the local community. We take great pride in serving excellent quality, locally sourced food and providing a warm welcome to every customer who visits us.

Due to continued growth and an increasing number of daily covers, we are looking to recruit two Chefs/Cooks to join our busy kitchen team. Whether you're just starting out in your catering career or you're an experienced chef looking for a fresh opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Our kitchen is a fast-paced and rewarding environment, serving quality breakfasts, lunches, homemade specials, and seasonal dishes to our busy café customers.

We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals who enjoy preparing, cooking, and serving food to a high standard while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking food to order

  • Food preparation for daily service

  • Labelling and storing food correctly in line with food safety requirements

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and tidy kitchen environment

  • Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures

  • Supporting the team in maintaining our 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating

  • Assisting with stock rotation and minimising food waste

  • Working efficiently during busy service periods

You'll be joining a small, friendly team with supportive, hands-on owners who are passionate about great food and excellent customer service.

Hours Available

We currently have two permanent positions available:

✅ 15.5 hours per week
✅ 22 hours per week

All shifts are daytime hours, typically between 8:30am and 5:00pm, and include every other weekend on a rota basis.
